About this clown

My photo
I often feel that we're all spinning slowly... like a mirror ball. Yes, we are all mirrors to each other. And so, it is the Light between us that I hope to help reveal and celebrate. /// J'ai souvent l'impression que nous sommes une boule disco qui tourne lentement. Nous sommes tous des miroirs pour les uns les autres. C'est donc la lumière qu'il y a entre nous que j'espère contribuer à souligner et à célébrer.

Juan of a Kind

I just found this on Juan's myspace page and thought it was worth sharing on here, because, for one thing, I learned that the Built for Speed party was actually born in San Francisco!
Juan's bio:

Über mich:
..
From the catwalk to the dance floor, Juan Chamié (myspace.com/djjuanofakind) is an artist whose influence transforms futuristic fashion into pop sensibility. His outrageous costume and clothing designs add texture and fantasy to the movements of Berlin's cutting-edge dancers and performers. His designs are sold at boutiques on both sides of the Atlantic and can always be found in his recently opened shop, Let It Bleed, on Wienerstrasse 36 in Kreuzberg, Berlin. His latest collection, Future Retro, will premiere in February 2008.

As an experienced deejay and producer, Juan has worked in radio, clubs, and promoted music events throughout the United States for over twenty years. Juan is one of the innovators of the legendary San Francisco party Built for Speed (myspace.com/rocksyourass). Now five years running, Built for Speed is not just a party, it's a concept that mixes performance art, fast fashion and switchblade cool into a cocktail of punk rock and nouveau hits that attract dancers from around the world. Its sister party, Built for Speed Berlin, celebrates its two year anniversary at the King Kong Klub. Combining his love of fashion and vinyl, Juan's live soundtrack provides the pulse behind MAX fashion in Denver, one of America’s hottest annual fashion shows that highlights such designers as Gaultier, Prada, Missoni, and Dries Van Noten. Juan’s New Year's Eve residency in Aspen has brought deserved attention to his undeniable deejay talent. He is current resident at the Rodeo Bar, King Kong Klub, and White Trash in Berlin.
A talented singer-songwriter, Juan is the founding member of the record label Terraform Records (www.terraform.net) and has worked for over twenty years as the front singer for three major bands Drop Culture, Shiver, and Bethnel Green. For the past three years, Juan has been performing consistently with the punk-rock cabaret chanteuse MadKate (myspace.com/mad_kate). Together they have produced and performed their erotic-alien-burlesque-theatre around Europe.
